CONSULTING - STAFFING - RECRUITING – Software Analysts Corporation. network infrastructure & security

Networks are becoming more pervasive and are rapidly growing more and more complex. It’s becoming critical that companies have a complete understanding of the network infrastructure and how the various pieces interoperate. The Network Infrastructure Assessment from Software Analysts (SAC) provides the level of detail necessary to completely understand your network infrastructure and to allow you to successfully integrate new technologies.

A network infrastructure assessment consists of a complete review and analysis of your network infrastructure. Working with your IT staff, SAC Network Consultants will evaluate all aspects of the IT infrastructure across all types of platforms, including Microsoft, Novell, IBM, and Unix.

We don’t just document your environment; we ensure that you are getting the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness within your current infrastructure. Through this assessment we can help you identify opportunities for increased efficiency, reliability, and quality of service, i.e., uptime, performance, and support.

Our Approach

Unlike our competitors, we provide a full complement of information technology (IT) services for complete, integrated solutions. Unlike our larger competitors, we tailor our solutions to meet your custom development needs. We’re large enough to meet all of your IT needs, but flexible enough to help solve your unique problems.

Methodology

The network infrastructure assessment consists of four distinct phases:

1. Network Analysis & Evaluation
2. Network Management
3. Network Documentation
4. Network Recommendations

  Network Analysis & Evaluation

The Network Analysis & Evaluation phase is conducted via a series of interviews with key personnel and a physical inspection of all infrastructure equipment.

Interviews are conducted with the management staff, network staff, and a sampling of end-users to determine growth forecast, new applications, network usage, and business requirements which the network infrastructure supports.

The physical inspection is done with our Network Consultant inspecting any and all internet links, servers, routers, hubs, switches, cables, remote access equipment, desktops, and all associated software. During this phase, our Network Consultant will be on-site and working closely with your IT staff.

  Network Management

In this phase, we will identify and assess the network management system and determine its effectiveness. Appropriate recommendations are made to enhance or implement a network management system, accompanied by a list of benefits.

An analysis of system availability is also conducted during this phase. We analyze and document any single points of failure and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement.

  Network Documentation

In this phase, the gathered information is analyzed and organized into the final document.
Documentation will include:

1. Logical network diagram showing all components, communication circuits, and topology
2. An inventory of all network equipment, and operating systems and versions.

  Network Recommendations

Our consultant will review the information gathered, research accordingly, and formulate the recommendations to drive your infrastructure forward.

The recommendations will:
-- Meet the requirements gathered from the interview process
-- Meet growth forecasts
-- Follow industry directions, standards, and best practices
